Owner and President of PIRS

Michelle Repman-Pifer, MA, CRC, NCC, LPC, CLCP, PGAP Provider

Michelle Repman-Pifer, MA, CRC, NCC, LPC, CLCP, PGAP Provider, is the President and Owner of Presque Isle Rehabilitation Service, LLC. Ms. Repman-Pifer has been working in the workers’ compensation, disability, and civil liabilities fields for over 25 years and founded Presque Isle Rehabilitation Service in 2002.

Through innovative thinking, integration of the latest technology, and collaborative teamwork with staff both in-office and in the field, she has created a highly regarded team that, together, ranks among the leading case management companies in the region.

In addition to running the business and overseeing operations, Ms. Repman-Pifer still personally works a small caseload of case management files and expert cases in workers’ compensation, liability, domestic, and disability cases. A believer in lifelong, ongoing education and skills acquisition, Ms. Repman-Pifer is a certified Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP) provider, having attended a workshop led by program developer Dr. Michael Sullivan; PGAP is included in the Official Disability Guidelines as an accepted treatment for workers’ compensation and disability claims.

Finally, Ms. Repman Pifer is a certified life care planner (a designation signifying rigorous preparation and thorough qualifications in this field), making her one of only thousands in the entire country.


Team Leader of PIRS

Marina Edwards, BSN, RN-WCCM, CEN, CCM, LNCC, TNCC

Marina Edwards is not only a nurse case manager for PIRS, she is the team leader for the nurse case manager contingent, providing case management and medical expertise on the medical case management files, and assisting with the latest evidence-based medicine and knowledge.

Ms. Edwards has been with PIRS since July 2012. She is an RN Workers’ Compensation Case Manager for the state of Maryland and maintains her Certified Emergency Nurse and Trauma Nurse certifications. Ms. Edwards still maintains her clinical skills on a regular basis. She provides both field and telephonic case management in five states including Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York.

As of Fall 2019, Ms. Edwards completed her accreditation through the Commission for Case Manager Certification and is now a Certified Case Manager.

Ms. Edwards’ strong communication skills are at the cornerstone of the care she provides. “I enjoy working collaboratively with insurance companies, injured workers, and attorneys to achieve the best patient outcomes through expeditious facilitation of evidence-based care,” she says.


Medical Case Managers of PIRS

Jennifer Ferko, RN, BSN

Jennifer Ferko has been with Presque Isle Rehabilitation since July 2015 as a medical/nurse case manager for the western Pennsylvania region. She has 13 years of professional experience as a nurse under her belt.

Ms. Ferko enjoys not only the flexibility of the NCM position, she likes her colleagues and the teamwork at PIRS. She said, “I enjoy working with the insured and injured workers to coordinate medical treatment and help facilitate their recovery.”

Provides medical case management and task assignments including Pharmaceutical consultation with medical personnel in Northwestern, Central, PA, and Western NY.


Cathy Ferrelli, RN, BSN

Cathy Ferrelli is a recent addition to the PIRS team, as of March 2018. She is a nurse case manager with over 30 years of nursing experience, and 16 in the workers’ compensation field. Ms. Ferrelli covers cases mostly in southwest PA and occasionally the eastern portion.

Cathy has loved working with PIRS and appreciates the staff and management support. She also very much enjoys the work she does. Said Cathy, “[It’s] gratifying to be able to assist injured workers with their recovery/RTW and also facilitate a good outcome for the carrier/insured when possible!”


Melinda Pearson

For over 20 years, Melinda has been providing services for individuals with brain injuries.
She is dedicated to promoting her client’s abilities and restoring their level of functioning
prior to their accident.

Melinda earned her Master’s degree in social work from Yeshiva University in 1996.
In 2019, Melinda earned her certification as a life care planner and has applied her skills in
preparing medical cost projections and life care plans.

Notable experience includes:
-Development and facilitation of a regional supervisory group for New York State TBI Medicaid Providers
for counseling and behavior services.
-Medicaid waiver provider for the New York State Department of Health TBI Waiver Program.
-Development and facilitation of a Brain Injury Association Caregivers group at Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
-Provided educational group on helmet safety for the United States Pony Club.
-Melinda was an employee of the year at Sunshine Homecare in 2017.

Melinda enjoys horses, performing arts, music, and reading. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children.


Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist of PIRS

Roy Patton, MA, CRC, CCM, CEDIR

James “Roy” Patton has been with Presque Isle Rehabilitation since July 2013 as a Rehabilitation Specialist for the Western PA region. He has been working in the vocational rehabilitation field for over 30 years. He works in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland.

Mr. Patton enjoys interacting with employers, visiting employers’ job sites, and the variety of challenges involved in getting injured workers back to work (job placement) or demonstrating their earning power (labor market surveys). Mr. Patton personifies the PIRS credo of personalized service, and he considers that “No case is the same.”
